To restore the show desktop icon in your taskbar follow the procedure given below..

regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32.dll

press enter.

Within 5 seconds it will show like this : DllInstall in shell32.dll succeeded

Sorry, but your trick is not working in windows 7 operating systems. I didn't test this on any XP machines. Do anybody tested this in any XP machines?

Its working in windows xp. Try it.... W7 won't supports these commands..

, this trick is working fine in all windows operating systems including windows 7. But the Regsvr32 command given to Restore the show desktop icon in taskbar by Navin was wrong. He missed a space between regsvr32 and /n /i:U shell32.dll in regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32.dll.

How can you sure about it? This method of Restoring the show desktop icon in task is working fine with all windows operating system unless it's badly affected by a virus.. :geek:

Update: I have completely re-written the first post of this topic: Restore the show desktop icon in taskbar and now this trick is 100% working for all windows operating systems.. This method is called "Regsvr32 command method for Restoring the show desktop icon in taskbar"

It has been a while since I sorted out this problem. My system was infected by viruses which removed my desktop icon from Taskbar. After a long search on internet I got a solution to fix this.
