Sachin is the only current cricketer and only Indian in the ESPN-Cricinfo’s All time World Test XI team. Not surprisingly four were aussies and three from West Indies, who were at the helm in cricketing world over the years (130 years, I guess). The younger generation, most probably haven’t seen play half of the players in the XI being Four players played their last match before eighties.ESPNCricinfo has come up to a conclusion with their 15 months of research of All time XIs for the leading Test Countries by the jurors consisting of Former Captains from Top eight Test Playing Nations, cricket historians and writers. Each juror has picked two sets of eleven players, first World XI and a second. Don Bradman, Gary Sobers and Shane Warne came up in the first XI list of all jury members acquiring maximum possible points in the exercise 60. The next best man is our own Sachin Tendulkar with 51 Points, who has been selected at Number Four batting position. Some might be disappointed as this list didn’t include the likes of Brain Lara and Sunil Gavaskar, who made it to the Second World XI.
So, here is the team comprises of Four Australians, three West Indians, two English players and one from India and Pakistan:-
Jack Hobbs, Len Hutton, Don Bradman, Sachin Tendulkar, Viv Richards, Garry Sobers, Adam Gilchrist, Malcolm Marshall, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram, Dennis Lillee
Great Men indeed!!
