The second and last lunar total eclipse of this year will occur Wednesday, 8th October.

North and south America, the Pacific ocean, New Zealand, Australia and Eastern Asia's star gazers are in a good position to watch the total eclipse. As the moon will be below the horizon during most of the eclipse, India will be able to witness its last stage only.

Along with four other countries India will start work to build the world's biggest telescope in Hawaii Island on Tuesday, says reports.

The telescope will be known as TMT which is 30 meter long and will be constructed near the summit of the Mauna Kea volcano on Hawaii Island. Expecting the construction is likely to be completed by 2022, reported the Japan Times.

At last scientist have pinned down the number of lakes that exist on Earth, its a grand total of 117 million.

David Seekell, an environmental scientist at Umea University in Sweden said that most of the world's lakes are in places where humans don't live.

He said, "This is something one would have assumed had been done long ago, and was in a textbook somewhere."

On 10th October, ISRO will launch the third of seven series of satellites to put in place India's own navigation system on par with US' Global Positioning System (GPS) from the spaceport of Sriharikota.
