PageRank is a numerical value used by Google search engine to determine the value or rank of a website or web page. PageRank is denoted by letters PR.

Higher the page rank, higher the importance of that website/web page to be come up top in Google search results. Page rank value ranges from 0 - 10. Google has Page Rank 10. The name PageRank is a trademark of Google.

Google give pagerank to a website on the basics of total number of inbound links or backlinks, quality of content, age of the website, seo based web pages etc
