Again the mass movie 'Kaththi' is in trouble. Actor Vijay, director AR Murugadoss and producers Lyca Production have been slapped with a defamation suit for making a reference to the 2G spectrum case in their recently released action thriller movie, Kaththi.
The defamation case was filed on Tuesday in the magistrate's court.
According to R Ramasubramanian, the complainant, a dialogue in the film suggested that corruption "had occurred" in the 2G spectrum case when the matter is still being heard in the court.
In the movie, actor Vijay says a dialogue, "We live in a country filled with people that have looted crores of rupees using 2G waves."
Ramasubramanian said, "How can a film conclude that all those involved in the 2G spectrum case are corrupt when the case is still being heard in court? This dialogue portrays all those people in poor light and damages their dignity."
However, The court granted permission to file the petition and adjourned the case till 11th November.
Kaththi released on 22nd October, has turned out to be a blockbuster and raked over Rs 50 crore in its opening week worldwide.
