
U T Khadar, Minister for Health and Family Welfare said that health booths to cater to the health needs of labour and mobile health units would be launched in and around the city as part of the 'National Urban Health Campaign'.
Mr Khadar wanted to make Mangalore 'the healthiest city', along with Ullal, Bagalkot, Bangalore and Mysore, he said.
On Monday he told reporters that the five year 'National Urban Health Campaign' would be launched by the District Health and Family Welfare Society on 25th October.
Minister said, The service of Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) would be made available in the proposed booths. Ten primary health centres (PHC) would be opened. The local MLA and corporation officials would be in charge of the PHCs.
Mayor Mahabala Maarla, Deputy Mayor Kavitha, MLA J R Lobo, Zilla Parishad CEO Tulasi Maddineni and others were presented.
